An unexpected hole in the wall that made me a little nervous for the food quality. Ordered the beef noddle soup and it came by within 10 minutes, rich and flavorful. Really good and had a flair of home cooking.
$10 + tip is a bit hefty since the portion is rather small. -

Thought we'd give this place another try. Have ordered from there 4 other times in the past 3 years, usually because Bangkok Corner is closed on Sundays. In the past, the food was good (not great) but the wait each time has been a problem. We always phone in, & are told it would be 30 minutes. After getting there 30 mins after the ordered was placed we've had to wait an additional 30-40 mins each time.
Tonight we placed an order for Pad Thai and Butter Shrimp. I recalled that past food ordered from there had been too spicy, so I specifically asked that it not be more than medium spicy for this order. We got the food home, and the Pad Thai was absolutely inedible. Too spicy to even chew. I love spicy food, but this was ridiculous! Did they boil the noodles in pure chili oil!?! WTH! A total waste of money. Never again!!!
The butter shrimp was also very spicy but my hubby suffered through it by drinking a 1/2 gallon of milk during his meal.... -

WORST. Called in an order for pick up. I never asked for spicy nor did the woman repeat spicy back in the order. I COULDN'T even eat my dinner... it was beyond spicy! One bite and my mouth was on fire.
So, I call back and say my order is super spicy?? I never said spicy?? You never repeated spicy?? #confused. The woman advised she couldn't hear me and thought I said spicy. Never the less DGAF. I just want my order... normal...
so she says she'll replace it and hangs up on me.
I hate confrontation so I sent my boyfriend to pick it up. He said she tried to continue to blame that it was wrong on me!! When he heard me place the order and the call was on speaker. She never repeated it. BOTTOM LINE, you don't argue with the customer or blame them.
To top it all off I ordered padseeyou extra broccoli and the first order perfect amount of noodles to broccoli. The replacement order literally had 5 noodles and all broccoli. #passiveagressive much? -

Very clean
Very friendly
Ordered the chicken pad Thai and Madee's special
Orange chicken
Pad Thai was excellent. Everything was fresh. Served on a plate rather than in a bowl. I liked this very much. The cabbage that came with the meal gave it a delightful crunch
The big disappointment was the orange chicken. The sauce was okay. It did not have an orange taste to it. Very sugary and thick. It was super fried I had to not through a lot of fried sugary batter before I found any chicken. -

It can be a challenge to find authentic inspired Thai food in the Newport Mesa area. Sometimes Thai Spice and the like simply do not satiate my Thai food cravings! MaDee's has a home cooked feel to their dishes, but portions are on the smaller side if you plan on going family style for the meal. Call ahead of time and place your order in because they do take a while to prepare their food.
